Field of Membership

The field of membership of the Galveston School Employees Federal Credit Union is composed of all employees of the Galveston Independent School District, their immediate family members which includes wife, husband, children (natural or adoptive), living in the household and children not living in the household, regardless of age, grandparents and grandchildren.

Once a member you may always be a member of the Galveston School Employees Federal Credit Union.

 
How to Join the Credit Union

To become a member of the Credit Union, complete an “Application for Membership” car, sign the front, and if the spouse is to be co-owner of the account (with the right of survivorship), your spouse must sign the reverse side and include social security number and photocopied ID.

You may establish a joint account which allows the survivor of the account immediate access of the funds on deposit in the Credit Union or a single account where funds can only be released to surviving members of a family when proper legal authorization is received by the Credit Union. Also IRA (Individual Retirement Accounts) and trustee accounts may be established.

A membership fee of $1.00 is charged upon joining. The value of one share is $5.00. Presently a member must pay a minimum of $6.00 to become a member of the Credit Union.
